Even though the RHS block’s bore can go as large as 4.165 inches, we opted for 4.155 since we were able to find an off-the-shelf piston offering from Wiseco ($750 per a set). Brian Nutter over at Wiseco helped us source a 2618 forged alloy piston designed to work with our long stroke. They did this by designing in a taper to the piston’s skirt that helps keep it as stable at bottom dead center (BDC) as it is at the top of the stroke. The pistons also came with their Armorglide skirt coating and offset pins to help reduce piston slap on cold start up.
