The oil supply tank in a dry sump system can be mounted just about any place where space permits. The 12-quart tank supplied with the ARE system measures 16.5 inches tall by 9 inches in diameter. With tanks of this size, it’s common practice to mount them in the trunk, which yields a side benefit of improved weight distribution. The two upper most fittings are connected to a breather tank and either the PCV system or valve cover. The fitting immediately below them is where the scavenged oil enters the tank. The bottom-most fitting supplies oil to the pressure stage of the pump.
