Designed more for oil control than horsepower gains, the factory LS7 dry sump system is an appealing alternative for racers on a budget. According to HKE, any LS-series block can be converted over to an OE LS7 setup. Necessary parts include an LS7 crank, oil pump, timing cover, pan, lines, and supply tank. Although this simple two-stage system won’t generate any appreciable crankcase vacuum, it does an outstanding job of stabilizing oil pressure.
