Here you can see the new AGR box from Heidts next to the stocker. The AGR box (PN 292117) goes through a series of machining operations where the valve bore is sleeved. The sleeve is then burnished and the casting is specially ported for pressure differential. The box also incorporates AGR’s Total Bearing Control system. This features a three-bearing system to better support the sector shaft at the pitman arm end and eliminates excess side-play found in many steering boxes that utilize only one needle bearing. The billet top cover and end caps also add to the strength of the unit and, in the case of the end cap, provide a cooling effect. Internally, special 440C standard-sized stainless steel balls are used in the worm gear to provide longer life and improved performance. The boxes are also dyno-checked for pressure, balance, and to insure they are leak-free. View Related Article
