Drift Challenge presented by Lucas Oil
It doesn’t matter what year/make/model your car is, as long as its LS powered! Drivers are evaluated by a panel of three judges that decide who advances to the next round based on four criteria: line, speed, angle, and overall style.
- Pro Extreme LSX Drag Class
For the first time, PAC Racing Springs is sponsoring this class that pits drivers and their cars up against one another in a 1/8th mile drag race. Lightweight door-slammers, big tires, tube chassis, stock suspensions, and powerful engines are just some of the expected cars to run this class.
- 5th-gen Camaro Challenge Class
Raymond’s Performance and Alignment will sponsor this index style class drag race for 5th-gen Camaros only. The other requirements are Camaros with LS-based motors, OEM-style transmissions, electronic fuel injection, and appear to be stock from the outside.
- LSX All Motor Class
The School of Automotive Machinists (SAM) will sponsor a naturally aspirated heads-up shoot-out style drag racing class for LS small block GM powered and bodied cars and trucks. Both cars and trucks are required to appear stock. They must also drive to the staging lanes and scales, but may be towed afterwards.
- LSX Drag Radial Class
Sponsored by Callie Performance Products, the LSX Drag Radial is a power adder shootout class. All cars must appear stock and must be stock bodied.
- LSX Real Street Class
Wiseco Performance Products will sponsor the Real Street class. This class pits cars running on True 10.5 wide slicks or DOT 275 drag radial tires. All vehicles must be GM bodied and GM LS powered vehicles. Racers may only have one type of power adder.
- LSX Rumble Class
The COMP Cams sponsored LSX Rumble class is the most popular of all 7 classes. The requirements are open to all and every combination of vehicle and engine.
- True Street Class
Unlike all 7 classes, the True Street is further from the rest. In this competition, competitors must first cruise their car for a 30-mile drive, and then arrive at Beech Bend to make passes on the race track. Cars must be street legal, but otherwise – anything goes. Lingenfelter is the sponsor for the True Street Class this year
There will also be a Swap Meet, Special Events (learn more HERE), and a manufacturer’s midway. The midway will give attendees a chance to see performance parts and other goodies that will be on display. This is also a great opportunity to learn more about specific parts you may want to purchase or even buy the part at the show.
