Don't judge a book by its cover. Tom surprised just about everyone when he opened his hood to uncover this 5.3 LS powerplant.
Tech editor Steven Rupp brought along the Camaro Performers magazine supercharged '10 project car to see how it would fare on the drive and to compete on the Super Chevy Show autocross course. Needless to say, the car did fantastic on the drive and managed to surprise quite a few people around the autocross as Rupp was able to get the burley late-model into the low 40-second zone by the second day of the event.
With the first Super Chevy Show in the books, word has it there will be another cruise on tap for the final event of the year, as the show heads out west once more, this time to Firebird Raceway in Chandler, Arizona. We also hear they are planning on having an autocross at that event. If that's the case, we're there.

The latest Camaro Performers magazine project car, an '01 Z28 aptly named Black Betty, was upgraded with Global West Suspension products just two days before the event. A time of 39.101 seconds was good enough for top honors in the Vendor class on the autocross.

Rupp took autocross champ Mary Pozzi for a ride in the Camaro Performers magazine '10 project car. As you can tell, she's not used to being in the right side seat.

Casey Aldridge got out on the autocross Saturday and was having a blast in his third-gen IROC convertible. A best time of 43.080 seconds had him the solid mid-pack runner.

Pozzi was leading the field all weekend in TCI's (Total Cost Involved) '68 test Camaro. With a best time of 37.487 seconds on Saturday, she was well over a second ahead of her closest competitor. If you've never seen her drive, you're really missing something exciting.
