The ZL1 is ready to hit the track right from the dealer. This is due to standard factory options like integrated engine and transmission oil cooler, a rear differential cooler, and brake-cooling ducts. The drivetrain was also beefed up with stronger axles, heavier-duty axle bearings, an iron diff case, and stiffer cradle bushings. Specific to the ZL1 is a dual-mode exhaust system, which uses vacuum-actuated valves to quiet the car during driving, yet lets it rock at idle and wide-open-throttle.
