ProMedia Events is pleased to announce what will once again be the largest all-GM event of the year: the 2nd Annual Chevy High Performance Nationals, which will take place at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia, the weekend of May 31 - June 2, 2013. This event, presented by Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center, is sure to attract some of the baddest Chevy and GM show cars, drag cars, and autocross competitors in the U.S. for year-long bragging rights. Look for all the awesome event coverage in our sister publication Chevy High Performance magazine!
"ProMedia has a rich history of exciting heads-up doorslammer action and we're proud to have a joint venture with such an incredible organization," said Henry De Los Santos, editor of Chevy High Performance magazine. "Whether you're a serious competitor, an avid car-show buff, or just a big-time enthusiast of performance street machines, having a show of this caliber takes all-GM branded events to a whole new level."
The Chevy High Performance Nationals will feature a huge all-GM car show, where you will see some of the coolest early and late-model muscle cars and hot rods on display. Hundreds of awards will be given away both days, Saturday and Sunday, and winners have a chance to be featured in a national magazine. Chevrolet Performance is putting up big money for five heads-up LSX race classes with the pinnacle being LSX Drag Radial – a turbocharged, supercharged, and nitrous-powered GM class with speeds reaching upwards of 200 mph. Corner turners are in for a treat at Chevy High's autocross as the crew from the American Street Car Series (americanstreetcarseries.com) will set up the timers and lay out their always-exciting and challenging course. Presented by Jet-Hot High Performance Coatings with official braking by Wilwood Engineering, some of the best-known drivers will race for awards and glory. Also, be sure to check out the 3rd Annual Street Machine Challenge and Top Ride Shootout, an invitation-only event where top suspension manufacturers and readers are guaranteed to be seen pushing many high-profile street machines on the dragstrip, 60-to-0 braking challenge, and autocross course.
Other features include 300+ mph jet cars attempting to break the Georgia land speed record. There will be plenty of race classes for all levels of competition beginning with the Summit Racing-sponsored bracket competition. Want to know who has the fastest GM-powered street cars? There will be a Tremec True Street class with nine different class winners.

Camaro Named Most Dependable Sports Car
J.D. Power and Associates named the Chevrolet Camaro the industry's most dependable sports car in its 2013 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study.
The J.D. Power and Associates study tracks reliability over a three-year ownership period on 2010 model year vehicles. Accordingly, the fifth-generation Camaro took the top spot in the survey during its first year on the market.
Introduced in late 2009 as 2010 model, the fifth-generation Camaro has been a dramatic success for Chevrolet. In terms of total sales, Camaro outsold its closest competitor, the Ford Mustang, for the past three years.
COPO components for the dragstrip
Along with the road-racing-oriented ZL1 and 1LE Camaro parts, Chevrolet Performance also offers many of the specialty and high-performance COPO Camaro components used in the production vehicles, allowing racers to build their own COPO Camaro race car. They include everything from the unique solid rear axle mount to the crate-engine assemblies of the three available COPO racing engines, and even the body in white (PN 19243374).
