Barrett-Jackson returns to Scottsdale, Arizona, at the Westworld of Scottsdale January 12-19, 2014 for the annual auction featuring a variety of vehicles. One car we know will be crossing the block is the much anticipated Lot #5006, a 1969 Chevrolet COPO Camaro. This green first-generation beauty has won a Gold Certificate from Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals (MCACN), scoring 992 points out of 1,000 (judging sheets included with purchase). The Camaro also has a certified, top-notch quality by Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish in 2009 and re-certified in 2013.

This 1969 COPO, 2-door coupe was originally exported from America into Canada to be sold at a GM-of-Canada dealership. A long list of documentation helps to show where the car was built and sold. The paper trail doesn’t stop there; the COPO Camaro includes proof of a frame-off restoration including use of original and NOS parts. Original XT wheels, Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires and a correct engine with a CE block 427 are all in order. The car is rated at 425hp, but we all know that’s a conservative estimate with today’s standards. The powertrain is hooked-up to a M21 4-speed transmission, sending the torque to a 4.10 positraction rear-end. Handling the stopping duties are a set of power front disc brakes.

In case you need more proof this car is worthy of the money it’s sure to bring, it also was authenticated by COPO Connection and Nickey Chicago, along with its Gold Certificate from MCACN. Be sure to stop by the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction January 12-19, 2014 to see this ultra-rare, pristine 1969 Chevrolet COPO Camaro cross the block.
