Back in 1971, Doyle Thomas was washing windows at a Texas Whataburger restaurant. A few years later he was a manager, and today he’s an owner/president with the franchise. Growing up around all of that Americana gave Thomas a huge appetite for American muscle cars. And while Corvettes were his early favorites, he recently got the itch for Camaros. In addition to a ’69 coupe and ’68 drop-top currently in the build process, he also has this killer ’70 being crafted by famed car builder Bobby Alloway.
The suspension will consist of just about everything offered in the Detroit Speed Inc. catalog, so you know it’s going to handle. And since it’ll have a FAST fuel-injected aluminum ZL1 427 big-block underhood, you know it’s gonna haul ass. The eventual color is oscillating between black and silver with Doyal leaning towards silver at the moment. Billet Specialties 18x10 and 20x12-inch rollers will orbit Wilwood six-piston binders, while a Tremec TKO-600 five-speed will let Doyle bang the gears.
Inside the Camaro will be a rollcage to keep him safe and a Vintage Air A/C system to keep him cool in the sweltering Texas heat—a good thing since Doyle plans on racking up a ton of miles in his second-gen when it hits the road sometime next spring.
And the wheels, bet it handles like a cat on carpet.
I like the 61 Impala on the rack...

jack up the rear a lil..n if keeping it yellow get rid of that black in the front..but no matter what its still gotta b better than the 80s Camaros..the irocs well they don't rock
Waaay too low. Hell, I have to avoid 50% of the parking lots here in Vegas (speed bumps) and my 72 is nowhere near that low. https://scontent-b-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/575453_10153537675355214_802493551_n.jpg
