We found this '98 Z28 on Craigslist. It was a contender based on the price. The seller was willing to go down to $5,200. That was the good news. The bad news was that the car was uncared for both cosmetically and mechanically. It needed a new clutch, the driver side power window "occasionally" worked, and it needed a ton of TLC in the looks department. The $2,300 more we spent on the '01 was well worth it. We don't have to deal with the on-off 1998 heads, we gained the super slick steering wheel controls, and the newer LS engine. Plus, we won't have to deal with manycosmetic fixes. Still, if you had under six grand in your pocket, this was the best deal we found for an LS1-powered Camaro.
