With that, our LS3 was ready for transplant. Rather than bolt the worn and rather dirty LS1 water pump to the shiny, new LS3, we instead picked up a new one. The nice thing is that we were able to sell the unneeded parts off the LS3, like the electronic throttle body, Corvette oil pan system, damper, exhaust manifolds, flexplate, and water pump to cover many of the new parts we needed for the swap. We were also able to sell the complete LS1 takeout engine to cover a good chunk of the LS3 crate engine cost. Once the LS1 is out we will swap over its A/C compressor, alternator, and Summit underdrive damper.
