The Goodguys Rod and Custom Association celebrates their 30th anniversary in 2013, marking three decades of promoting and producing some of the nation's favorite rod and custom events. Goodguys will stage 19 dynamic events in 2013 welcoming a wide range of hot rods, customs, muscle cars, trucks, and classic cars to the country's premier event venues. Sixteen of the 19 events will feature the Goodguys AutoCross, which is free to all registered Goodguys event participants. The "All American Sunday" program, which welcomes all years, makes, and models of American-made or American-powered vehicles on Sunday-only will return in 2013.

The NMCA Flowmaster Muscle Car Nationals will reach a milestone in 2013 as the series turns 25 years old, and the celebration includes special events at every race. With a tighter schedule that will bring more heads-up traveling racers and exciting special events, NMCA looks to have its biggest event season ever with drag racers and show competitors traveling from all around to celebrate the NMCA’s 25th anniversary tour.

The American Street Car Series kicks off their 2013 event series at The Great Park (old El Toro Marine Base) in Irvine, California, February 22-24 with the Run to the Coast. The RTTC is the premier driving event in which the top Pro Touring, Street Cars, and trucks from across the country make their way to Southern California to show who's hot rod has what it takes to take top spot in the West. The weekend event will feature an exciting 2.1-mile road course, technical autocross, and the ever-popular speed-stop-squared. Friday's cruise will feature a lunch stop at TMI Products in Corona, California, followed by a scenic coastal drive then finishing up with a premier showing of Speed Channel's Are You Faster Than a Redneck television show (location TBA) where you can meet and mingle with the show's stars and producers.

Permatex, maker of Spray Nine, a leading brand of specialty cleaning products, has donated sorely needed cleaning and disinfectant supplies to storm victims in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy's devastating blow to the U.S. East Coast. The Spray Nine cleaning products were provided to Gemma E. Moran United Way Labor Food Center (New London, Connecticut) and Staten Island Giving Circle (Staten Island, New York). From these rescue centers, the products were distributed to nearby residents affected by the storm.

The Z/28 is back! During its press conference at the 2013 New York auto show, General Motors dropped a bombshell on the packed house with the formal announcement of the new 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, the centerpiece of its revamped 2014 Camaro lineup. With the lights dimmed and a soundtrack of an engine revving, the bright white Z/28 rolled on stage for the first time.

It's hard to believe that Hot Rod magazine is celebrating its 65th anniversary -- a impressive milestone for sure. And what makes it so special is that Hot Rod is still going as strong as ever. Be it in print, online, social media, or through its YouTube presence, Hot Rod is pretty much everywhere.

So you really wanted the new COPO Camaro, but you weren't one of the lucky 69 who Chevrolet chose to get the latest version of its factory-built drag machine. Well, you can still have a version of that car - you'll just have to build it yourself. Chevy announced today that it will be manufacturing a limited number of NHRA-certified rolling chassis, designed for drag racing enthusiasts. The cars will be serialized and limited to strip-only driving (no VIN will be issued). The shell comes with a professionally assembled, painted body and chassis ready to be finished. All you need are the guts!

The fifth-generation Camaro is already an impressive machine, but fans of Chevy's iconic pony car will be happy to hear that the automaker is bringing a revamped 2014 Chevy Camaro to the 2013 New York International Auto Show. The updated Camaro will no doubt build upon the already successful formula that's seen it reign as the most popular sports car under $50,000 for three consecutive years.

Now in its second year, the COPO Camaro program is nothing short of a dream come true for customers looking for a factory-built Chevrolet race car. But only a select few individuals will be burning rubber in them, as once again the company will produce only 69 of the ultra-rare COPO machines.

I don't get sick. I'm not bragging or thumbing my nose at those of you poor bastards who chronically get a cold or the flu, it's just that I don't. I do, however, have a theory why: I grew up running around the neighborhood getting dirty ... no, downright filthy, actually, and when I got thirsty, I ponied up to the nearest garden hose and helped myself to some liquid refreshment on the spot. We had no hand sanitizer or alcohol wipes back then. As I recall, the only time I was required to wash my hands was when I showed up to Ma Stavem's dinner table, and you better believe that procedure was often repeated not once, but multiple times until they passed inspection. We were kids, we got dirty, but ultimately it was probably germs that kept our bodies from getting sick and keeping our resistance up.

Something tells me that most of you Camaro Performers magazine readers have owned, or at the very least, been in an old drag car, road racer, or street machine. By "old," I mean a car that's somewhat past its prime as far as fit and finish go. Seasoned race cars seem to have that slightly "broken-in" feel to them. You know, doors that rattle in unison with the cam lobe as the exhaust echoes beneath the slightly hacked up floors. And of course, there is no carpet, let alone any kind of sound deadening product, as that would only mean additional weight. Yep, you've been there. And it's not a negative thing, it's just what happens to cars over the years, especially those dedicated to racing. We just accept the window rattle and interior exhaust drone as part of owning a race or performance-oriented Camaro.

The United States Senate passed Senate Resolution 452 (S. Res. 452) at the request of SEMA and its Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO) and Hot Rod Industry Alliance (HRIA) councils designating July 13, 2012 as “Collector Car Appreciation Day.” The date marks the third commemoration in what has become an annual event to celebrate and raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society.

The Flowmaster NMCA WEST season opens June 22 with a three-day event at Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, California. The Inaugural Lucas Oil NMCA WEST Street Car Nationals will run June 22-24, 2012. Racers from across the West will converge on the legendary drag strip in hopes of taking home a coveted Wally trophy, named for NHRA founder Wally Parks.

California Car Cover is hosting their first-ever Camaro only car show Saturday, June 9th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at their facility in Chatsworth, California.
